Software Engineer, Backend – Core/API & Process Automation

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve the core systems that power next‑generation business process automation. You will work on distributed, event‑driven workflows that support critical enterprise operations at global scale, collaborating with a remote‑first team of experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend features for event‑sourced workflow engines and APIs.
• Implement and maintain clean, scalable APIs with strong developer experience.
• Tackle distributed‑system challenges such as event sourcing, CQRS, concurrency, and ordering.
• Optimize performance by identifying inefficient processing patterns and improving data access.
• Build observability capabilities including logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.
• Contribute to technical design decisions, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Identify and address technical debt, and support production incidents with on‑call duties as needed.

Required profile

• Professional experience in backend engineering.
• Strong interest in distributed systems, event‑driven architectures, and scalable software development.
