Simulator Technician – France

About the role

Join CAE’s Simulator Technician team at the Cazaux training centre in France. You will work on a diverse portfolio of flight simulators, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades while developing a broad technical skill set.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on simulators and associated systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues using test equipment.
• Record all maintenance activities in the maintenance management system.
• Execute pre‑flight and post‑flight checks, basic visual alignments, and automatic Qualification Test Guides.
• Assist with simulator refurbishments, hardware modifications, and logistics (parts receipt, repair, validation).
• Provide timely customer service support and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Support the technical services group with administrative and ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• College diploma or degree in electronics, mechatronics, aeronautics, mechanical engineering or related field.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and adapt to schedule changes.
• Ability to read system schematics and technical prints.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital theory.
• Soldering and circuit‑board repair expertise.
• Computer literacy (PC/mainframe operation) and basic Microsoft Office skills.
