Simulator Technician – Cognac

About the role

Join CAE’s Simulator Technician team in Cognac, France. You will work on a diverse portfolio of flight simulators, performing maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades to ensure high‑fidelity training environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective actions on simulators and associated systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex simulator or aircraft system issues.
• Record and track maintenance activities using the maintenance management system.
• Execute pre‑flight and post‑flight checks, basic visual alignments and automatic Qualification Test Guides.
• Assist with refurbishment, hardware modifications and parts logistics.
• Provide timely customer service support and maintain simulator housekeeping standards.
• Support the technical services group with administrative and logistical tasks as needed.

Required profile

• College diploma or degree in electronics, mechatronics, aeronautics, mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience with flight simulators or comparable technical industry.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Interpretation of system prints and schematics.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital theory.
• Soldering and circuit‑board repair expertise.
• Computer literacy (PC and/or mainframe architecture) and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
