Senior M&A Legal Counsel

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Senior Mergers & Acquisitions Legal Counsel to join its Legal Corporate Affairs team in Toulouse. The role supports high‑impact, international projects that are central to Airbus’ strategy of pioneering sustainable aerospace.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate preliminary agreements and transaction documents such as MoUs, LOIs, SPA, shareholders’ and joint‑venture agreements.
• Lead legal due diligence and manage post‑closing matters.
• Coordinate with internal teams – antitrust, compliance, tax, finance, HR, insurance, real estate – and external law firms.
• Monitor compliance with relevant laws, especially foreign direct investment regulations.
• Select and manage external counsel in a cost‑efficient manner.
• Travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, to support M&A transactions.

Required profile

• EU, US or UK law qualification with a focus on Business or Corporate Law.
• Minimum five years of international M&A experience as a practicing lawyer.
• Proven ability to draft, negotiate and communicate complex agreements.
• Strong business‑oriented advisory skills for senior management.
• Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a multicultural, fast‑moving team.

Required skills

• Ability to manage external law firms and coordinate cross‑functional project teams.
