Job description
About the role
Analog Devices is looking for a Senior FPGA Mixed Signal Engineer in Sophia-Antipolis to support the design and development of FPGA-based solutions for mixed-signal systems and evaluation platforms, with a focus on Xilinx Zynq devices. The role combines hands-on FPGA development with board-level collaboration across analog, digital and software teams, working with limited direction on complex assignments.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and debug FPGA-based functionality for mixed-signal systems using RTL development, simulation and hardware validation.
- Support Xilinx Zynq platform development, including logic integration, interface definition and hardware/software interaction at board level.
- Integrate FPGA functionality into mixed-signal platforms with analog and digital teams and support system-level performance.
- Contribute to the design and bring-up of FPGA AFE boards, including schematic review, component and interface definition, and support for layout and board-level debug.
- Develop and run verification activities: simulation, hardware testing and lab characterization.
- Investigate and resolve design and integration issues across FPGA logic, interfaces and board-level mixed-signal behavior.
- Partner with design, verification, software and applications teams on product development and evaluation.
Required profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in FPGA, digital design or mixed-signal hardware development.
- Experience with Xilinx Zynq platforms, FPGA AFE boards or evaluation hardware.
- Familiarity with common digital interfaces and board-level integration challenges.
- Lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and similar debug equipment.
Required skills
- FPGA development and debugging of digital logic for mixed-signal systems.
- Xilinx Zynq implementation and board-level integration.
- RTL design in Verilog or SystemVerilog.
- Mixed-signal understanding, including signal integrity and synchronization.
- PCB and board-level development, including schematic review and interface definition.
- Simulation, waveform analysis and hardware debugging.
- FPGA design and debug tools for synthesis, simulation, implementation and validation.
The role requires travel about 10% of the time and is a day shift. Export licensing review may be required for non-US citizens or permanent residents. Analog Devices is an equal opportunity employer.
