Senior Clinical Scientist - Natural Cosmetic Actives

About the role

IFF is looking for a Senior Clinical Scientist in Grasse to lead the clinical evaluation and claim substantiation of its natural cosmetic active ingredients, with a focus on skincare and haircare. The role involves designing and running clinical, preclinical and mechanistic studies that support the efficacy and differentiation of the portfolio, within a team of more than 50 scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee clinical studies supporting the efficacy claims of natural cosmetic actives.
• Manage external partners and CROs, ensuring scientific excellence and timely study execution.
• Plan, prioritize and monitor projects in line with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Contribute to preclinical and mechanistic approaches, including biomarkers and ex vivo models.
• Analyse and interpret clinical and preclinical data to generate consumer benefits and differentiating claims.
• Support the preparation and communication of scientific results to internal teams and external scientific audiences.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines.

Required profile

• Masters' degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
• 8 to 15 years of experience in cosmetic clinical development and claim substantiation.
• Proven expertise in skincare and/or haircare efficacy evaluation.
• Strong experience managing CROs and coordinating clinical studies in an international environment.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of clinical and preclinical methodologies used to support cosmetic claims.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from conception to completion.
• Proficiency with relevant scientific and data analysis software tools.
