Senior Business Controller – International Business

About the role

ABB is seeking a Senior Business Controller to act as the primary financial partner for the EVP International Sales and the global leadership team. In this hybrid role you will translate strategic growth ambitions into robust financial plans, provide transparent performance insights, and ensure commercial decisions are grounded in solid financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with international leadership on strategy, investment decisions, market entry, pricing and M&A evaluations through detailed financial modelling.
• Own budgeting, multi‑year planning and forecasting cycles, turning growth targets into clear financial objectives and capital allocation decisions.
• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks, monitor KPIs, analyse variances and deliver actionable insights on profitability and market dynamics.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance standards and audit requirements while collaborating across sales, operations and finance functions.
• Support regional sales and transformation initiatives by evaluating business cases, investments and potential acquisitions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in business controlling, FP&A or finance business partnering, preferably in an industrial or technology multinational.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, influence senior stakeholders and align with global finance standards.

Required skills

• Strong financial analysis and modelling capabilities.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and multi‑year planning.
• Deep understanding of performance reporting, KPI monitoring and variance analysis.
