Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Philips Cardiologs is building a global SaaS platform that helps physicians diagnose cardiac diseases using AI and cloud technologies. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer you will lead the transition from a Ruby on Rails monolith to a modern micro‑services architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of the backend infrastructure from a Ruby on Rails monolith to a scalable micro‑services system.
• Provide technical leadership and support to feature teams, solving performance bottlenecks, improving service architecture and integrating new technologies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience, including extensive work with Ruby on Rails.
• 3+ years of cloud experience (AWS preferred) and hands‑on deployment of cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with micro‑services architecture and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and API telemetry/monitoring.
• Fluent English and basic French.

What we offer

• Base salary €45,630 – €76,050 per year, transparent and based on experience and market factors.
• Eligibility for a performance‑linked bonus incentive.
