Senior Accountant (General)

About the role

Mistral AI is looking for a highly motivated accountant with at least five years of experience in an accounting firm or listed company. You will join a fast‑growing finance team, helping to structure accounting operations across multiple entities in France and abroad while ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support general, auxiliary, and analytical accounting for several entities, covering cash, PP&E, revenue, payroll, purchases and inter‑company transactions.
• Transition accounting tasks from external providers to internal processes.
• Prepare accurate documentation for monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate income tax, payroll taxes and other statutory obligations in collaboration with local advisors.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements for France and other jurisdictions.
• Work closely with statutory auditors and support audit processes.
• Optimize and automate accounting workflows by improving the use of ERP, billing systems and TMS.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance (DCG, DSCG, Master’s or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in an accounting services firm, preferably with start‑ups, tech or listed companies.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and French accounting standards (PCG).
• Fluent English (spoken and written); French is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement.
