About the role
The CCAC Scaling up Coordinator will support the Government of Mexico in enhancing the mitigation impact of the Super Pollutants Accelerator. Working under the policy direction of SEMARNAT and technical guidance from INECC, the role focuses on identifying funding opportunities, cultivating partnerships, and ensuring the sustainability of mitigation actions beyond CCAC support.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and secure funding from national, bilateral and multilateral sources for super‑pollutant mitigation projects.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships and support the development of high‑quality funding proposals and concept notes.
- Coordinate the funding pipeline, track financial flows and ensure alignment with Mexico’s SLCP policy priorities.
- Develop and implement an integrated coordination framework and produce impact reports for the Accelerator programme.
- Collaborate with the Senior Coordinator, national technical team and CCAC Secretariat to institutionalise project outcomes and retain key capacities.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in environmental management, public policy, international development or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–8 years of experience in climate project management, grant writing and donor coordination, preferably in Latin America or Mexican public institutions.
- Proven track record accessing international climate finance (e.g., GCF, IDB) and navigating public procurement processes.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with fluency in Spanish and high proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of Mexico’s climate change mitigation and air‑pollution policies and of short‑lived climate pollutants.
