Satellite/Platform Resident Expert (Freelance)

About the role

The Satellite/Platform Resident Expert will support the definition, design, development and oversight of a satellite program, focusing on the spacecraft bus and its subsystems. Reporting to the Customer PMO Director, the consultant will work on‑site at manufacturer facilities and launch bases as required.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor day‑to‑day design, development, industrialisation, assembly, integration and test activities of the satellite/platform, flagging non‑compliances early.
• Provide guidance to the PMO Director on platform‑related issues and coordinate with the Space Segment Engineering Design Authority.
• Participate in all design, manufacturing and testing review meetings for platform units, subsystems and the overall satellite system.
• Support launch campaign activities, including LEOP and in‑orbit test campaigns.
• Produce accurate progress reports and ensure timely response to actions.

Required profile

• MS Engineering certification or equivalent (Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical, etc.).
• 15+ years of experience managing Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) programmes on either the manufacturer or customer side.
• Extensive experience in satellite/platform system design and AIT.
• Strong project‑management background.
