Restaurant & Market Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant to join our team at Mr Bunky’s Restaurant & Market in Marseille. The role is full-time and on-site, supporting both the restaurant floor and the market area to ensure smooth operations and a welcoming experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food service tasks, including basic food preparation, serving, and clearing tables.
• Restock shelves, organize product displays, and keep the market area clean and presentable.
• Greet customers, answer simple questions, and provide courteous assistance.
• Handle basic cash-register or point-of-sale transactions as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout dining and retail spaces.

Required profile

• Ability to perform daily restaurant duties and basic food preparation.
• Capability to manage market-related tasks such as stocking and organizing products.
• Strong customer-service attitude with clear communication and a helpful approach.
• Reliability, good time-management and the ability to prioritize during busy periods.
• Physical capacity to stand for long periods, move around the venue and lift moderate loads.
• Basic numeracy and comfort using a cash register or POS system (training provided).
• Previous hospitality, retail or food-service experience is a plus but not required.
