Public Affairs Associate – AI Policy

About the role

Mistral is seeking a Junior Public Affairs Associate to help shape and execute its global AI public policy strategy. Working across teams in France, the UK and the US, you will monitor regulatory developments, support advocacy initiatives, and ensure Mistral’s interests are represented in the evolving AI landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse public policy issues and regulatory changes affecting AI.
• Support the design and execution of policy strategies aligned with Mistral’s objectives.
• Draft and prioritise responses to policy matters directly impacting the organisation.
• Develop and coordinate policy campaigns to reinforce advocacy efforts.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry associations and partners.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare briefings, reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in public affairs, policy research or a related role; technology sector experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of policy‑making processes in France, the EU and the US.
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
• Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
