Project Director – Data Centre Development (Paris)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing European data centre developer, is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead a major data centre development in Paris. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery from early‑stage development through permitting, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for successful delivery of the data centre project, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality.
• Lead strategy and execution across permitting, power, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness.
• Manage interfaces with local authorities, utility providers, grid connection stakeholders and other partners.
• Drive discussions on power availability, grid connection and energy‑related constraints.
• Coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors and technical advisors.
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans.
• Provide senior‑level reporting and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and investors.
• Oversee contractor and consultant performance, ensuring accountability across workstreams.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a Project Director, Programme Director or senior delivery leader on major capital projects.
• Proven track record delivering high‑value, technically complex or mission‑critical projects from development to handover.
• Background in large‑scale industrial, infrastructure, energy, power, utilities, advanced manufacturing, life sciences or data centre environments.
• Deep understanding of permitting processes, authority interfaces and stakeholder management.
• Credibility around power, grid connection and energy infrastructure.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across design, procurement and construction.
