Process Engineer

About the role

Forvia is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Manufacturing Engineering team. The role focuses on mechanical equipment for polyurethane processes, driving automation, robotics and production line improvements across its plants.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mechanics, automation and robotics aspects of the polyurethane process.
• Lead industrial projects for retrofitting existing lines or implementing new foaming and assembly lines.
• Develop proofs of concept to support process improvement and innovation.
• Define production line concepts together with the ME specialist team and write technical specifications for new equipment.
• Prepare and manage investment budgets for assigned projects.
• Support Program Manufacturing Leaders during new project implementations, including supplier validation and equipment acceptance.
• Lead key suppliers, launch purchase orders and track delivery of machines and materials.
• Oversee machine acceptance, ensuring performance and safety compliance, and support setup and commissioning phases.
• Define and maintain process standards and create generic machine designs for global deployment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Equipment Design, Project Management, Automation or Robotics.
• 2‑5 years of experience in a production environment, preferably automotive or polyurethane projects.
• Knowledge of polyurethane pouring machines, automation, robotics, tooling and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as CATIA or equivalent.
• Experience using Siemens TIA Portal for automation.
• Understanding of robotics and emerging technologies such as AI.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methods.
