Principal System Engineer

About the role

NXP Semiconductors France is looking for a Principal System Engineer to lead the architectural definition, design, and implementation of complex embedded systems for next‑generation semiconductor products.

Key responsibilities

• Define and design system‑level architecture covering hardware, software and firmware for new semiconductor products.
• Perform detailed system analysis, requirements gathering, feasibility studies, trade‑off analyses and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and verification teams to ensure seamless integration and validation.
• Develop and execute system‑level test plans and strategies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and act as a key interface with customers.
• Drive continuous improvement of system‑engineering processes and contribute to IP generation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in system engineering, especially in embedded systems and semiconductor product development.
• Strong written, oral and presentation skills; ability to work with diverse, global teams.

Required skills

• Programming and modeling: C, C++, MATLAB, Python.
• Wireless communication system design or control system design.
• DC‑DC modeling, performance analysis and jitter modeling.
• Product specification and development in the analog‑mixed‑signal domain.
