Principal Delivery Engineer – Mechanical/Electrical (Data Centres)

About the role

Join a leading global data centre operator as a Principal Delivery Engineer, responsible for the design, delivery and optimisation of critical mechanical or electrical systems in large‑scale data centre projects. Based in Paris, you will work from concept through commissioning, ensuring resilient, efficient infrastructure for mission‑critical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design delivery for mechanical (cooling/HVAC) or electrical (power distribution/UPS) systems.
• Review and challenge designs to improve efficiency, resilience (N+1 / 2N) and cost.
• Own system strategy and performance outcomes for the chosen discipline.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks and single points of failure.
• Support commissioning, IST and handover activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure integrated system performance.
• Evaluate vendors, equipment and technical solutions.
• Drive PUE optimisation and sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven data centre experience with a focus on mechanical cooling or electrical power.
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong track record delivering large‑scale critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Understanding of resilience requirements in mission‑critical environments.
