About the role

The postdoctoral researcher will join the RAPSODEE Center at IMT Mines Albi to work on a 100‑kW pilot‑scale downdraft gasification unit. The project aims to adapt the unit to operate in a nitrogen‑free atmosphere for the production of renewable fuels.

Key responsibilities

• Modify the pilot unit to inject a nitrogen‑free gas mixture (O₂, H₂O, CO₂).
• Conduct experimental runs on the gasification unit and analyse the resulting syngas.
• Perform product and process characterisation using analytical techniques.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to scientific publications.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (process engineering, chemical engineering, etc.).
• Maximum three years of post‑doctoral experience.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Process engineering
• Thermal processes
• Analytical chemistry
• Experience with sensors and analyser communication protocols
• Pilot‑scale experimental work
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and automation systems
