About the role
The Institute Charles Gerhardt seeks a post‑doctoral researcher to lead an AI‑driven project on Metal‑Organic Framework (MOF) materials for autonomous humidity control. The position lasts 24 months, starting in autumn 2026, and is based in Montpellier.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement machine‑learning models to predict MOF properties related to humidity regulation.
- Conduct experimental synthesis and characterization of MOF candidates.
- Integrate AI predictions with laboratory workflows for autonomous material selection.
- Analyze data, validate model performance, and iterate on algorithms.
- Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the AI‑MAHC project.
Required profile
- PhD in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong background in MOF chemistry or porous materials.
- Experience with machine‑learning techniques applied to scientific problems.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative research environment.
