PhD Research on Conductive Polymer & Carbon Quantum Dot Sensors for Organophosphate Detection

About the role

The Institut Mines Télécom – IMT Nord Europe invites a motivated PhD candidate to join the CERI EE research team in Douai. The project focuses on developing innovative sensors based on conductive polymers and carbon quantum dots for the detection of organophosphate compounds.

Key responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and integrate conductive polymer and carbon quantum dot materials into sensor prototypes.
• Characterize sensor performance (sensitivity, selectivity, stability) using laboratory analytical techniques.
• Collaborate with the OSPA research area and external partners, including a research stay at the POP Lab in Milan.
• Document experimental results and contribute to scientific publications and conference presentations.

Required profile

• PhD candidate in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong interest in environmental monitoring and sensor technologies.
• Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary research team.
