Operations Manager - Global Trade Solutions

About the role

This position is based in Paris and supports the European trading desks of a leading global financial institution. You will act as the central point of contact for Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities, Money Market, Repo, International Rates, SSA trading and DCM desks, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for trading desks in Paris and Dublin, handling trade analytics, discrepancies, amendments, allocations and funding reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate trade bookings and amendments across multiple platforms, maintaining lifecycle records for expiries, resets, dividends and corporate actions.
• Escalate complex trade exceptions to management and collaborate with Accounting, P&L, Market Risk, VPC, Audit and other stakeholders.
• Implement and monitor operational controls to minimise risk and act as a first line of defence.
• Work with IT and Product Development to automate workflows, develop monitoring tools and support system migrations.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for enhancements and assess impact on daily operations.
• Produce risk metrics for management and resolve position, trade or payment discrepancies promptly.
• Oversee end‑of‑day completeness checks, reconciliations and keep procedural documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role within capital markets or a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, risk controls and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple European locations and functions.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
