New Building Project Manager

About the role

The New Building Project Manager will supervise the construction of new vessels for CMA CGM Group, including containerships and RoPax vessels. The role ensures compliance with international regulations, quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics standards while driving continuous performance improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with IMS, international rules and regulations.
• Maintain quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies throughout the project.
• Develop and report a continuous performance improvement plan.
• Review and comment on shipbuilding drawings, seeking expert advice when needed.
• Track drawing approvals, work progress, extra/credit items and specification deviations.
• Lead initial stores and spare‑parts procurement.
• Manage vessel delivery and specifications approval.
• Conduct risk analysis and report project progress.
• Coordinate with authorities and incorporate feedback into ongoing projects.
• Propose new standards, guidelines and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Interface with the RSE team on environmental topics and monitor construction KPIs.

Required profile

• Engineering, naval architecture or maritime school graduate.
• At least 3 years of experience in the maritime industry.
• Strong project management and analytical abilities.
• Technical knowledge of vessel design.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Effective multitasking and organizational capabilities.
