Network Security Consultant (Part‑time, Remote‑first)

About the role

This part‑time, remote‑first position is looking for an experienced Network Security Consultant to help shape AI‑powered security solutions. You will work closely with product managers and AI engineers to translate real‑world network security workflows into intelligent tools used by enterprise security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document day‑to‑day responsibilities, workflows, and operational practices of enterprise network security engineers across various industries.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert on firewall management, cloud and SASE security, policy lifecycle, compliance, vulnerability management, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with product and AI teams to convert domain expertise into AI‑driven capabilities, use cases, and product enhancements.
• Review, validate, and improve AI‑generated outputs for technical accuracy and practical relevance.
• Develop realistic test scenarios and operational examples to support design and continuous improvement of AI‑powered security solutions.
• Provide strategic insights to capture institutional knowledge and translate complex practices into scalable AI workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a senior network engineer, network security engineer, or network team lead in a large enterprise or service‑provider environment.
• Hands‑on expertise in firewall management, including policy design, rule lifecycle, recertification, optimization and governance.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as financial services, insurance, telecommunications, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), SASE, SD‑WAN, hybrid infrastructures and leading firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, Cisco).
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks, vulnerability management, change management and enterprise security processes.
• Experience with network security management platforms is a plus.
