Methane Science Postdoc Fellow (Consultant)

About the role

The International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) is seeking a post‑doctoral fellow to support its science programme. Working as a consultant, you will contribute to the generation of peer‑reviewed manuscripts, design of global oil‑and‑gas measurement campaigns, and delivery of analytical reports that synthesize field data.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyse field measurement data from fossil‑fuel emission sources.
• Prepare scientific manuscripts for submission to peer‑reviewed journals.
• Draft campaign design documents for global methane measurement initiatives.
• Produce analytical reports, data summaries, and validated data sets.
• Develop study proposals, presentation materials, and stakeholder progress reports.
• Review scientific proposals for funding and assist in shaping IMEO’s methane science direction.

Required profile

• PhD in atmospheric science, environmental engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience with methane quantification and sectoral analysis.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with an international science team.
• Strong written communication skills for scientific reporting.

Required skills

• Data analysis and interpretation of field measurements.
• Scientific writing for peer‑reviewed publications.
• Familiarity with methane measurement techniques and satellite data integration.
