Member of Technical Staff – Training Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Cohere is building cutting‑edge foundation AI models and needs engineers to bridge research and production. As a Member of Technical Staff you will design, implement, and optimise training infrastructure that powers large‑scale model training across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and write high‑performance, scalable software for model training.
• Improve training infrastructure and codebase performance.
• Build tools that accelerate training cycles and increase infrastructure efficacy.
• Research, implement, and experiment with super‑compute and data infrastructure solutions.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience in large‑scale model training.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as JAX, PyTorch, and XLA/MLIR.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed training systems (Kubernetes, Slurm) and frameworks like Ray.
• Track record of contributing tooling or infrastructure for training large models.
