Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer to join a new military program within the Military Derivatives department in Toulouse, France. The role will support the development of airframe mechanical systems for a cutting‑edge aircraft derivative programme, contributing to European sovereign capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Concept, define and develop designs for mechanical system parts, assemblies and installations using modern design processes.
• Create detailed design documentation, including design principles, key characteristics, interfaces, material selections and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with industrial, production and customer teams throughout the concurrent engineering process.
• Support the full product lifecycle in an end‑to‑end design environment, leveraging appropriate software tools.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with Airbus Defence & Space standards.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical system integration for aircraft or similar high‑technology programmes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA V5.
• Experience using CSG Full3D or comparable 3D modelling tools.
