Mechanical Engineer – Medical Devices

About the role

Science Corporation is seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of innovative medical devices and research tools. You will work on a wide range of projects, from micro‑scale fluidic platforms to large‑scale surgical equipment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build electromechanical systems, including wearables, surgical tools, and bench‑top fixtures.
• Validate system performance in laboratory, wet‑lab, and operating‑room environments.
• Own fabrication and testing pipelines to rapidly iterate on concepts.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, optical, software, micro‑fabrication, biology, quality, and surgical teams.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Detail‑oriented self‑starter comfortable with open‑ended problems.
• Proven ability to navigate complex, ambiguous design spaces and deliver functional systems.
• Hands‑on fabrication experience and strong understanding of DFMA.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of precision mechanical design, materials science, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Experience with microfluidics, optomechanics, and rapid prototyping.
• Hands‑on skills in CNC machining, injection molding, and DFMA.
• Familiarity with FEA and simulation (stress/strain, thermal, flow).
