Mechanical Engineer Intern

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support the design and development of a cutting‑edge reactor’s mechanical systems and peripheral components. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary technical team, contributing to prototype assembly, testing, and scale‑up activities in a deep‑tech environment focused on climate‑change solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design of reactor mechanical systems, including heat exchangers, piping, and structural supports.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to improve reactor efficiency, durability, and performance.
• Contribute to the assembly, integration, and testing of reactor prototypes at various development stages.
• Support the integration of control, safety, and automation subsystems with the reactor core.
• Help develop and test full‑scale prototypes, optimizing thermal and mechanical aspects for industrial scale‑up.
• Assist with equipment selection, supplier communication, and component tracking.
• Draft technical specifications and document design iterations and procedures.

Required profile

• Currently completing a PhD or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• First‑hand experience in mechanical design of complex systems such as reactors or thermal devices.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to manage technical projects across functions.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mechanical simulation tools such as SolidWorks or ANSYS.
• Experience in prototyping and scaling designs to industrial production.
