Market Operator – Auction Operations (English required)

About the role

We are looking for a Market Operator to join the Market Operations Auction team at EPEX SPOT. You will ensure the smooth execution of daily power auctions, support more than 400 market participants and collaborate with internal and external partners across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and run over 20 daily auction markets, guaranteeing accurate trade execution and price publication.
• Handle production tasks, manage incidents and coordinate resolutions with IT, Membership, Sales and clearing‑house partners.
• Provide operational support to market members, answer queries and assist with client set‑ups.
• Communicate regularly with the European market coupling ecosystem, TSOs and other power exchanges.
• Contribute to internal documentation, training modules and continuous process improvements.
• Participate in agile Scrum teams for system releases and the development of new services, products and market coupling projects.

Required profile

• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts (7:30 – 19:30) including up to two weekends per month after a six‑month onboarding period.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multi‑location environment (Amsterdam and Paris).
