Manager I, Engineering - Source Code Integration

About the role

Datadog is looking for a hands-on technical leader to drive the growth of its Source Code Integration platform, which lets product teams use customers' source code to run automated investigations, debug services with stack traces and profiles, scan code for security issues and make proactive fixes. The team owns the platform services, infrastructure and integrations that securely and reliably access and synchronize customer repositories. The role leads a team of engineers of varied experience levels, shapes the roadmap and delivers solutions at scale, in a hybrid workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and cultivate a team of engineers of diverse experience levels, including performance management and career development
• Lead technical and strategic discussions to understand the team's and stakeholders' challenges and opportunities
• Own relationships with product teams and major stakeholders, balancing competing requests with long-term investments and prioritizing impact across the platform
• Run a lightweight process to pace and track work, supporting high-quality delivery through demos and frequent iteration
• Stay close to the team's systems and write code or troubleshoot when needed to unblock the team
• Help internal and external customers resolve issues and find systematic solutions that improve the platform and integration experience

Required profile

• A collaborative, enabling natural leader who puts people first
• Backend engineer at heart, with experience building robust systems of multiple services, data streams and stores operating at scale
• Experience running platform services, making trade-offs between short-term impact and long-term sustainability, and working closely with product and internal teams
• Passion for a fast-paced, high-growth environment and positivity and proactivity towards AI

Required skills

• Significant experience with major backend technologies such as Go, Python or Java, PostgreSQL and Kafka
• Event-driven architecture and/or distributed systems
• Experience using agentic tools for development and analysis
