Manager, Field Engineering France - Specialist Solutions Architects

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Manager, Field Engineering France for its Specialist Solutions Architects (SSA) team. The manager leads a team of SSAs who support the most complex customer engagements, giving deep technical expertise to the Solution Architect and Sales teams. The team works on new and existing customers and helps shape technical account strategy. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Field Engineering (Specialist).

Key responsibilities

• Hire, train and grow a diverse team of Specialist Solutions Architects.
• Work with cross-functional partners to set consumption targets and deploy technical experts on the most critical use cases.
• Help customers succeed with Databricks and grow platform usage while preventing churn in strategic accounts.
• Build relationships across the business and foster collaboration between Field Engineering, Sales and other partners.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns on strategic accounts and opportunities identified by Sales and Pre-sales leadership.
• Handle escalations, mentor team members and build career paths for them.

Required profile

• Senior-level experience in the data space with a technical product (data warehousing, big data or machine learning).
• Experience leading technical, customer-facing teams of more than 8 people, preferably in a pre-sales setting.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to technical executives on strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Experience hiring, ramping and promoting candidates, and working with Sales, Product Management and Professional Services.
