Maintenance Technician – Boat Yard (Hesse, France)

About the role

Le Boat is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join its boat yard team in Hesse, France. The role involves preparing the fleet for seasonal operations, performing repairs, and ensuring all vessels meet high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and commission boats for the spring season and prepare them for winter storage.
• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on 36‑ and 45‑ft fiberglass boats, including diesel engines, pumps, batteries, electrical, propane and hydraulic systems.
• Carry out small fiberglass repairs and install electrical and mechanical equipment (training provided).
• Assist with hauling, launching, de‑commissioning and gas‑dock operations.
• Travel to off‑site locations for emergency repairs and respond to on‑call duties by rota.

Required profile

• Technical studies or hands‑on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps or general maintenance.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Good communication skills and a valid driver’s licence.
• Fluency in English or French and full eligibility to work in France.
