M&A Analyst – Financial Institutions (EMEA)

About the role

We are looking for an Analyst to join the M&A FIG team at Alvarez & Marsal, focusing on financial institutions across EMEA. The role offers the chance to work on high‑profile transactions, develop sector expertise and collaborate with senior professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth financial and strategic analysis of companies and sectors within the financial services industry.
• Assist in preparing marketing materials, pitch presentations and transaction documentation.
• Participate in due‑diligence activities, including data gathering, analysis and synthesis of findings.
• Support deal origination and execution in close collaboration with senior team members.
• Contribute to valuation work using financial modelling techniques and tools.
• Monitor industry trends, market developments and regulatory changes affecting financial institutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from a top‑tier university in business, economics, sciences or a related discipline.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance or M&A advisory, preferably within financial services.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
