Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Teaching & Research (Law)

About the role

The School of Private and Commercial Law at UNSW Law & Justice is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to join its teaching and research team. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, develop a strong independent research agenda, and engage with the school’s scholarly community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and convene courses in the LLB, JD and LLM programmes, covering areas such as equity and trusts, land and property law, contracts and torts.
• Maintain an active research programme leading to high‑quality publications and external grant acquisition.
• Participate in school and faculty service, including curriculum development, student supervision and academic governance.
• Collaborate with colleagues on research projects, policy work and community engagement.

Required profile

• PhD in Law or a closely related discipline (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications in private law fields.
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Experience appropriate to Lecturer or Senior Lecturer rank.

• Salary Level B from $127,947 or Level C from $155,403 per annum.
