Lead Data Architect – Data Governance

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Lead Data Architect to shape the enterprise data landscape within its Data Governance organisation at the Marignane site. You will translate the company’s data strategy into concrete architecture, ensuring the platform is reliable, AI‑ready and aligned with business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the technical roadmap that implements the Airbus Helicopters Data Strategy.
• Establish a unified catalog of approved technologies to avoid architectural fragmentation.
• Coordinate the Data & Analytics architecture community of practice and oversee solution, data and engineering designs.
• Align the architectural roadmap with Enterprise Architecture governance and risk mandates.
• Guide selection and integration of data catalog, active metadata and data‑quality tools, setting metadata requirements before procurement.
• Lead the design of complex relational and non‑relational data models for transactional and analytical use cases.
• Implement enterprise‑wide governance and security controls for data assets.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data architecture initiatives in large, complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management and data‑quality practices.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive consensus on architectural standards.
• Excellent communication skills to translate business strategy into technical solutions.
