Internal Litigation Counsel

About the role

The Internal Litigation Counsel provides specialist legal advice on employment matters and defends INTERPOL in staff‑related litigation. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, the role is based in Lyon and is a 36‑month fixed‑term appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Deputy General Counsel in delivering legal services related to employment law.
• Defend INTERPOL in staff litigation procedures and represent the organization in related proceedings.
• Supervise and guide the work of paralegals and other support staff.
• Ensure compliance with INTERPOL’s legal framework and internal policies.
• Prepare legal opinions, draft documents, and manage case files.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience in employment law and staff litigation, with official proof of employment.
• Ability to work independently and provide impartial legal advice to senior management.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills.
• Eligibility to obtain an enhanced security clearance.
