About the role

Join SOM Rhône‑Alpes as a Cost Engineer supporting major hydraulic infrastructure projects in the Grenoble, Annecy or Le Bourget du Lac area. Reporting to the Project Manager or Cost Control Manager, you will ensure cost discipline throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and consolidate project budget estimates.
• Build and maintain cost reference databases.
• Participate in feasibility studies and economic evaluations.
• Analyse supplier offers and contractor quotations.
• Implement budget tracking tools and reporting mechanisms.
• Identify cost, schedule and resource variances and propose corrective actions.
• Produce regular financial forecasts.
• Create dashboards for project teams and steering committees.
• Support financial risk management for projects.
• Collaborate closely with technical, procurement, planning and project management teams.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Bac+5) in project management, construction economics, industrial engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Cost Engineer, Cost Controller or similar role.
• Experience preferably in energy, infrastructure, construction, heavy industry or project engineering.
