About the role

Amazon is looking for an Automation Engineer to ensure the optimal performance of automated systems in its fulfillment network. You will be the site expert for key automation equipment, from conveyors to sortation systems, helping to keep orders moving on time.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot and repair issues with critical automation systems.
• Collaborate with the EU Controls network to track Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics.
• Provide data visualisations of troubleshooting activities for internal stakeholders.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects driven by the EU Controls network.
• Maintain accurate documentation and backup libraries for all systems.
• Install and commission new equipment together with global colleagues.
• Support other sites in the EU Controls network as needed.
• Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and develop improvement strategies compliant with IEC 61131‑3.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on reliability and maintenance engineering.
• Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary environment and collaborating across departments.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to engineering technicians and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IEC 61131‑3 programming standards.
• Proficiency with control systems and sensor technologies.
• Experience with data visualisation tools for troubleshooting reporting.
• Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics.
