Industrial Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Industrial Purchasing Manager acts as the purchasing representative for a manufacturing plant, sitting on the plant director board and driving cost‑reduction initiatives. The role bridges the plant with central purchasing, ensuring strategic sourcing, supplier performance and continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the plant in purchasing matters and participate in the plant leadership board.
• Coordinate major purchasing topics with central purchasing, escalating issues when needed.
• Drive commercial cost‑reduction actions, develop savings action plans and identify new saving opportunities (workshops, supplier meetings, audits).
• Support commodity strategy, ISO certification for indirect purchasing, and continuous improvement projects with suppliers.
• Manage logistics, quality and service claims, and maintain strong relationships with local and just‑in‑time suppliers.
• Contribute to strategic sourcing decisions, make‑or‑buy analyses, and the launch of new programs alongside program purchasing managers.

Required profile

• Fluent in English (C1) and the national language.
• Master’s degree in business with an engineering background.
• 3‑5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a transversal or supplier‑relationship role.
• Experience working in a plant environment and participating in leadership boards.
