Indirect Buyer – Strategic Sourcing & CAPEX

About the role

Envision AESC is building a new battery manufacturing plant in Douai, France, and seeks an Indirect Buyer to support the industrial ramp‑up. The role focuses on strategic sourcing of CAPEX equipment, spare parts and maintenance services, ensuring cost‑effective procurement for a high‑growth environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an Indirect Strategy Plan centred on CAPEX (production equipment) and spare parts.
• Collaborate with Global Purchasing to align group strategies while expanding the local French supplier base.
• Gather market intelligence on industrial commodities, analyse spend and identify competitive opportunities.
• Lead tender processes and negotiate complex CAPEX contracts, including warranty terms and payment schedules.
• Manage service and maintenance contracts to achieve best‑practice terms, avoid penalties and drive year‑on‑year cost reductions.
• Work with Engineering and Maintenance to define and meet Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) KPIs.
• Handle day‑to‑day procurement issues, improve OTIF for indirect parts, and ensure accurate PO release in SAP.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Purchasing, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect purchasing within manufacturing or automotive environments.
• Proven track record in CAPEX and MRO/spare‑parts procurement.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑influence abilities, with the capacity to meet tight deadlines during a site launch.
• Excellent communication skills for internal engineering teams and global suppliers.
