Human Factors Specialist – Aviation

About the role

ATR is seeking a Human Factors Specialist to support the development, modification and certification of large aircraft (CS‑25). The role ensures compliance of human‑factors, human‑machine‑interface and procedures with international certification standards while enhancing operational safety and pilot well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct task and procedure analyses (HTA, CTA, workload analysis) to assess workload, situational awareness and human‑error risk.
• Evaluate cockpit HMI against CS/FAR‑25 & AMC requirements, analysing legibility, alerting logic and mode consistency.
• Provide certification‑compliant assessments (CS‑25.1302) and draft compliance dossiers for authorities.
• Support system designers by defining human‑factors requirements, participating in V&V strategy and project reviews.
• Lead collaborative projects with partners and universities to advance aviation safety knowledge.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor/Master) in Human Factors, Ergonomics or Systems Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of experience in the aeronautical sector, preferably with manufacturers or equipment suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, flight operations and CS‑25 / PART‑21 certification regulations.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
