Head of Group Aviation Insurance

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a senior leader to define and execute the Group’s global aviation insurance strategy. Based in Blagnac, France, you will act as a strategic partner within the Insurance Risk Management department, protecting Airbus assets, liabilities, employees and programmes across Commercial Aircraft, Helicopters, and Defence & Space.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Group’s worldwide insurance placement and strategy for all aerospace lines.
• Ensure compliance with the Airbus Insurance Policy across all critical contracts, including purchase and supply‑chain agreements.
• Manage financial risk exposure, conduct risk modelling, oversee complex claims handling and control premium flows.
• Negotiate legal contracts, select and manage external brokers, insurers and legal experts.
• Provide technical expertise and decision‑making on unprecedented insurance issues.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of specialist managers, fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in aviation or aerospace insurance.
• Strong understanding of risk transfer, insurance placement and claims management.
• Excellent negotiation skills with insurers, brokers and legal counsel.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders at a global level.
