Handling Qualities Engineer (f/m)

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Handling Qualities Engineer to join the Stability & Control team in Toulouse. The role bridges aerodynamics, performance, loads, and aircraft systems to ensure handling qualities meet safety and comfort standards throughout the aircraft life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Check aircraft and actuator sizing to satisfy handling‑quality requirements.
• Define flight domains (speed, angle‑of‑attack, sideslip, weight/CG) and validate them with cockpit systems and operational teams.
• Analyse failure cases and assess their impact on aircraft stability and control.
• Investigate in‑service events and system behaviour during those events.
• Prepare, execute and follow up on simulator and flight‑test campaigns to validate studies.

Required profile

• Degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of flight dynamics and test/flight physics.
• Understanding of automatic control loops and aircraft systems (a plus).
• Interest in digitalisation and big‑data concepts (a plus).
