Group Accounting Director

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a Group Accounting Director to lead accounting and tax activities across multiple jurisdictions, including France, Switzerland, the US, the UK, Morocco, and the UAE. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will manage a team of internal accountants and external advisors while building the financial infrastructure needed for the next growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Own the group accounting organisation, defining roles, responsibilities, and governance.
• Lead a team of five accountants and external advisors, ensuring operational autonomy on routine topics.
• Define and continuously improve internal accounting policies, closing checklists, and reporting processes.
• Drive timely monthly closings and manage intercompany reconciliations, recharges, and agreements.
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Automate key accounting processes and contribute to ERP (Odoo) implementation.
• Coordinate corporate, VAT, and other tax filings, support statutory audits, and monitor regulatory developments.
• Manage payment workflows, expense reimbursements, and internal controls.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis for financing rounds, due diligence, and board reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of accounting experience in an international, fast‑growing environment.
• Strong command of French GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
• Proven ability to own the full accounting cycle in multi‑entity settings.
• Hands‑on, well‑organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines independently.
