Functional Architect – Systems Methods & Tools

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Systems Functional Architect to join its Systems Design Methods & Tools team in Toulouse. You will help shape digital solutions that support aircraft system design, enabling data‑driven decisions and secure, compliant product development.

Key responsibilities

• Translate aircraft system designers' needs into functional requirements and prototype high‑value technical solutions.
• Collaborate with IS/IT partners (cybersecurity, data‑governance) to industrialise prototypes into secure‑by‑design, cost‑efficient solutions.
• Define and maintain a long‑term roadmap for solution evolution aligned with aircraft design needs and digital standards.
• Conduct structured trade‑off analyses of technology options to support value‑driven design decisions.
• Champion adoption of new data‑driven methodologies, ensuring users benefit from state‑of‑the‑art tools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of professional experience in functional architecture, IT development or systems engineering.
• Proven experience designing and implementing multi‑tool solutions.
• Experience working with architectural modelling and defining solution roadmaps.
