Full Professor in Information Theory

About the role

CentraleSupélec seeks a Full Professor in Information Theory to join its Signal, Information, Communication (SIC) Department and the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes (L2S). The position is an open‑ended public‑sector contract focused on teaching, curriculum development, and cutting‑edge research.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in information theory, digital communications, signal processing, statistics, and machine learning.
• Integrate societal challenges such as climate, sustainability, security, and health into the curriculum.
• Develop and update engineering curricula in collaboration with industrial partners.
• Lead the third‑year specialization track “Information and Communication Engineering” (ICE) and supervise teaching teams.
• Conduct research within L2S’s Telecommunications and Networks group, covering protocol layers, resource allocation, robust compression, content security, routing, and virtualization.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Established research record in information theory or related areas.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level, with the ability to teach in English.
• Capacity to collaborate with industry and contribute to curriculum innovation.
