Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Comand AI’s mission is to build next‑generation C2 software that is deployed with real users in the field. The Forward Deployed Engineer works hand‑in‑hand with customers to deliver valuable solutions, prototype new features and feed real‑world signal back to the core platform. The role demands comfort with travel, ambiguity and a strong sense of ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Travel onsite and iterate on the core product directly with users.
• Ship full features end‑to‑end, without separating back‑end and front‑end concerns.
• Prototype product ideas, validate them with users and merge successful bets into the core platform.
• Collaborate closely with product management, design and engineering to communicate field feedback.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in full‑stack software engineering roles (technical founders welcome).
• EU citizenship (required for defense contracts).
• Deep user empathy and ability to design end‑to‑end solutions.
• Willingness to travel frequently (≈25 % of the time) to client sites in France, the UK and active deployment locations.
• High agency and ability to navigate ambiguity and chaos.
