Financial Controller

About the role

As a Financial Controller at Mantle8, you will join a fast‑growing clean‑tech start‑up focused on natural hydrogen exploration. You will be responsible for financial planning, management control, and the financial infrastructure that supports both the parent company and its special purpose vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Build the annual budget and recurring re‑forecasts for the TopCo and SPVs, and produce budget‑vs‑actual analyses.
• Develop cash‑flow forecasts and runway projections, and communicate these to the executive team.
• Manage bank accounts, execute payments, run reconciliations, and lead the monthly close process.
• Track analytical accounting by project, department, and technology.
• Prepare financial data for research tax credit (CIR) and grant/subsidy applications.
• Deploy and improve financial tools, structure expense‑commitment workflows, and act as the interface with the external accountant and operational teams.

Required profile

• Solid experience in FP&A and management control, preferably in a multi‑entity environment.
• Proven track record building annual budgets, re‑forecasts, and conducting variance analysis.
• Experience with cash‑flow forecasting, runway projection, and bank operations.
• Ability to drive the monthly close and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Fluent in French and English.
