Field Application Engineer

About the role

As a Field Application Engineer you will join Harmattan AI’s Test Bench team, responsible for the software and hardware that automate production‑line testing. Deployed on the factory floor, you will own test stations, ensure they operate reliably and ergonomically, and act as the primary feedback loop to the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of deployed test stations, hardening them for industrial use and ensuring operator friendliness.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and integration issues; provide clear specifications when software changes are needed.
• Identify recurring failure modes and workflow friction, driving continuous improvement and higher operator adoption.
• Translate floor observations into structured feedback for engineers, covering usage patterns, breakages, and bottlenecks.
• Lead new station bring‑up, validate production readiness, and sign off on deployment.
• Perform hardware interventions, integrating sensors, cameras, and instruments with the existing stack.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in a production, field‑deployment, or industrial environment; manufacturing or robotics background preferred.
• Comfortable working with hardware – wiring, fixture work, component swaps, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with 3D CAD design and mechanical integration; work on control cabinets is a plus.
• Proficient in Python and Linux for log analysis, diagnostics, and configuration debugging.
