Equipment Operator – Ranch Operations

About the role

The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of ranch machinery, including tractors, mowers, loaders, and trailers. Working outdoors in all weather conditions, the operator ensures equipment is maintained, inspected, and used according to safety standards and DOT regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control assigned ranch vehicles and equipment such as tractors, front‑end loaders, mowers, graders, and trailers.
• Inspect machinery daily, detect malfunctions, remove obstructions, and report issues to supervisors.
• Perform spraying of fertilizer or pesticide solutions under supervision.
• Assist with controlled burns under direction of certified personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of projects, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
• Keep the shop and work areas clean and safe.
• Communicate proactively with team members and supervisors about project progress and any problems.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with insurability.
• At least six months of experience operating similar equipment; trailer‑towing experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting and walking on irregular terrain.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable work habits, and good verbal and written communication.
